Odd Heart Rate
take a rest day...maybe you are getting sick:eek: . Catch it before it catches you. Thats what I would do
Yeah, I think rest is in order too. Maybe cut down the workout times 20% or so this week, but keep as many days as you have been doing. Higher heart rates can be a sign of overtraining, and the stress of everyday life certainly doesn't help either.
I went through a funny period a while back where my heart was doing something similar. Turned out I was drinking too much coffee... Might be involved.
To tri or not to tri - that's not a question at all!

that and I've noticed a higher heart rate after I have a lot of sugar. Don't read too much into one irregular heart rate though, just like the rest of your body your heart could've just been having an off day.
"now I only have good days and great days."
Couple of things, if you are using HRM equipment, have you double checked it with a manual read? Also, has the weather conditions been hotter and more humid lately in your area? You mentioned some stress, how is your sleeping over the past couple of weeks?
Brad
Pain is the sensation of weakness leaving the body!
Stress and coffee have been my good companions this past week, but I have been getting enough sleep, about 7 hours a night. I rode 23 miles today, and I averaged 2 mph faster then last week, and the odd thing was my heart rate average was the same, except I went faster and farther....

That's not odd. That's called improvement. Way to go.

I went running today, 7 miles in about an hour and for some strange reason my heart rate was higher then usual. It's been like this the past couple weeks. Usually, my heart rate will be at about 145-150, but today it was at 165-170 for most of the time. I wasn't very tired after my run either, I felt like I could go even faster and longer then usual too.
I have been going through a lot of stress lately, lots of school and issues with some friends that I've been trying to help with. But can stress cause that much of change in your performance? And for me, it actually has kind of helped. thoughts?
