Big congrats triathlete! but then you've really been a triathlete since the day you started training. :) The first swim is always the hardest but you handled it well, next time piece-o-cake. Nice bike, sounds like you were hammerin' and havin' fun. Great overall time! I bet your run was pretty good too.
Fantastic race! 4th AG will look good on your race resume.;)

I don't need to get faster, I just need to get older!

Very nice job! I thought of you out there racing, but the long bike took us a different route (and the sleeping in meant you might already be gone anyways) so I didn't make it by. Congrats!
On to the turkey tri?

Great job on your first of many races.
Thanks guys...
Looks like I might be playing support-crew for the girlfriend for the Turkey Tri. She was a great cheerleader for my first tri, so i think she deserves the same for her first... I'm going to have a great time being her personal cheerleader/photographer! :)

Congrats man! Way to not die :) Good job on playing support-crew, I'm sure she'll show her appreciation ;)
Well wish Lucy luck! It is just as tiring to cheer sometimes! :)

Ok... so the FIRST Tri is out of the way. Today I became a triathlete! The distance was some wacky thing that somebody made up (clearly on drugs) but it was a lot of fun, that's for sure.
Distances: 0.3K swim, 13.5K bike, 4K run.
Overall-- 1:06:24 4/4 In my age group... but hey, even if there were only four of us, fourth place isn't bad! ;)
Not really sure about the splits... they haven't posted the information yet.
Overall I had a great time. The water was FREEZING. I couldn't get control of my breathing until after the 2nd (of 4) buoys. There was a lot of floating on the back just trying to get that under control. I still managed to get out of the water and move-on to my favorite part, the bike. The bike course was fast, and pretty easy. There was one big climb, otherwise, I just mashed it into the big chainring, and went for it. I was a bit surprised to not see that many bikes in the transition when I got there... That was a bit of a boost! Starting the run, I began to feel like I may have gone a little too hard on the bike, but I soon settled in to a pretty nice clip. I decided to walk up a big hill to save my quads, and a guy passed me and said: "We're almost there.... almost there... can't be far now..." I said, "thanks!", and started running again. As soon as I saw the finish, I knew I had done it!
I didn't DIE!!! Thanks for all the support guys.
