Glad you are back running! Just remember -- don't jump back in too fast. Watch the mileage and intensity increases. When I read things like that you added hills and jumping into your first run back, and that you are already doing 5 milers, the overuse injuries fit in pretty well :( Just be careful out there! We want to see you still running for a long time!!

Hi All:
Yea, I'm going super easy. Lots of off-days, staying hydrates, watching protein intake.
Best,

I Believe In Cross Country

So I've started running again.
Thursday I ran 3 miles at comfortable, conversational pace. I added some aritificial hills on the treadmill, jumped alot while running, to test out my strength. Everything held up well.
Today I ran 5 miles. I'm running once every two days, with hopes of being able to run 10 miles next Sunday.
I don't experience any sharp or dull pains, just a stubborn stiffness. The stiffness goes away the longer I run, and doesn't return after I'm done.
I think my approach to returning is solid, aimed at lots of interm recovery.
PS. My roomate just became an Ultra-Runner today in Vermont. All of you out there who have done this formidable feat, my hat is tipped.
