Yes, there are.
Depending on the area you live in or where the race is being held has an affect on the availability to find a place that rents them. Sometimes, there is information on the race website that can direct you to where you can rent a wetsuit. Just be careful to not go to a surf shop, as surf wetsuits are much different than wetsuits that are designed for swimming.

I know a number of places will rent you a wetsuit online for between $55-65 and one of the nice things about it for some of these places is that if you decide you want one, they will apply your rental charge to your wetsuit purchase. I was considering renting until I came across a deal on a Blue Seventy Reaction Full wetsuit online last night. Normally $275 with 30% off (total $192 with shipping for only $6.50 at "Go For It Sports"). I figured for under $200 shipped to my door I would go ahead and be an owner. With the year coming to a close, you should be able to find some good deals on wetsuits out there.

I've never used them, but have heard good things about it.
I know it probably depends on your location but I was wondering if I could rent a wetsuit somewhere? Has anyone ever heard of this? There was a race I was thinking of doing early Oct and wetsuits are permitted I heard. I didn't want to freeze my butt off but also didn't want to buy a wetsuit right now (Even though I will eventually need one)
