...for the first time in a long time. Without doing any research is 98/62 with a heart rate of 50 good?

My wife said it was but I know nothing about this stuff.

Pulse is fine but that is a pretty low BP. Do you have a history of low BP in your family? That top # is pretty low.

Those are pretty close to my numbers. It's fine. Your BP is low but I had a doctor tell me it's okay to be low as long as you don't pass out every time you stand up.

You should probably ask your doctor if you are worried but when my BP comes out like that (which it does most of the time) I usually am told "excellent blood pressure - nice and low!"

Actually family history is quite the opposite, high blood pressure.

Hmmm.

I have a similar blood pressure, and every time they took it they said it was fine. Now if you feel weak, dizzy or anything, it would be bad, but otherwise, you're good to go.

One blood pressure reading isn't enough to draw any conclusions from anyway, they tend to be pretty variable from day to day even from time of the day differences. If there is any cause for concern repeat the measurement once or twice a week for a few weeks and get some averages then ask your family doc (preferably one with some experience with endurance athletes) what he/she thinks.
