I don't need to get faster, I just need to get older!
Welcome to Trifuel!!!!
I train and race with my wife also, believe me.... we are lucky fellows. I´m happy we gave you a warm sensation; we are all nice people here (and dog here:D) !
Hyperactive Trifueler!!!! (I refuse to let the status go :p)
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
Iron Dan- My wife has been enthusiastic, though she has been hit pretty hard by the injury bug a few times. I am really hoping that once she heals up that she will continue to enjoy it because it is something I would like to share with her. We are actually coming up to Portland, OR this weekend for our 7th wedding anniversary. Is there anything in the city or surrounding areas that we should check out?
I did a race report last week from my olympic tri. I will go ahead and post it shortly.
Cayman- I am pretty spoiled by location and I need to remember that. I was just bemoaning the fact that DST is just about over.
Cheers,
Kev Daddy
We live in a wonderful spot for training!
Do you swim at the Rose Bowl? I wish I could, but my commute heads the other way :(
And welcome again :)

Hi Kylie!
I used to swim at the Rose Bowl (great pools, facilties are so so), but the membership just proved to be too expensive. I belong to LA Fitness and usually swim out past you at either Glendora or La Verne.
My company is in La Verne, though I am only in one day a week. I noticed you said your commute is away from the RB. Where do you head to?
I do bike at the Rose Bowl, like everyone else in the SGV. Are you ever out there?
Thanks, Kevin

Don't think, just do.

I've actually only biked in the Rose Bowl once (maybe twice)! And ran at it once about 7 years ago (a 5k while in college -- I feel old now)!
I work out in Redlands... used to live near the La Verne LA Fitness, but I'm a 24HR member.

Hi all,
I have been 'auditing' the TriFuel forums for just short of a week and liked the feel of the community enough to join up. The attitude I have witnessed has definitely been supportive and cheerful, while also about competing seriously at whatever each individual's level is. Since some people consider these ideas mutually exclusive, I am glad to see that doesn't seem to be the case here.
A little about me: I had always been a 'team sport' guy (think baseball, hockey, soccer, football, etc) until my wife wanted to do a marathon to lose her extra baby weight. I have been swimming pretty regularly for ~4 yrs, so I suggested triathlon.
We did a sprint in Sacramento in April, and I loved it. I signed up for a half marathon in SF and oly tri in LA and loved both of those too. So now I am hooked and my friend that recommended the LA Tri (he had done it the year before) and I have just committed ourselves to IM CA 70.3 this March. He recommended this site as a good resource and so far I have appreciated his recommendation.
I realize I have a lot of training to do to rise to the challenge in addition to a whole lot of learning. I don't think popping a few ClifBloks and having a bike bottle of Cytomax will carry me through 70.3 as well as it did for ~31 miles.
Anyway, thats me. I live in Pasadena, CA and have always lived b/w Santa Barbara (college) and San Diego (post college).
I look forward to contributing and sharing in your collective triathlon experience!
Cheers,
KevDaddy
