Anyone from here going? I know there's a few Aussies lurking out there..
I can't wait, it will be my first full Olympic Distance & first race i've had to fly to.
I'm doing an almost Olympic distance this weekend, just to say i've done the distance before the big one!

hey OzTrigal!!

i have done noosa a couple of times and it's a great race. im not competing this year as it's to close to all the world champs qualifiying races. make sure you practise climbing that hill and more importanly descending that hill!!!

Thanks Hollywood!
I've been trying to figure out a local hill which resembles Noosa, but not having done the race yet i've no idea what to look for! I've heard its... fun.. though!

Too much traffic for me, I will wait for a course that isn't so busy. Good luck, it was my first one. If you want to do a really good one, try Mooloolaba. Much better atmosphere than Noosa and less busy on the course = safer.

Once i've got a season of Olympics under my belt.. Aiming for 3 this season, Noosa - Nov, Sandringham - Jan, Bairnsdale - March. If I go ok over those ones, I might have a go next season at a couple of the National Series Races which Mooloolaba is now a part of. Just not happy about them not having one in Vic anymore!

yeah im racing all the national series races this year, the hill up is not that steep it's just consistant and a little bendy. However once you hit the top it's smooth flat highway all the way to the turn around. Going down, its just a straight line all DOWN HILL!!just gear up and lookout for the nuts trying to crack the record (craig walton 110.6Km/h, Hollywood, 96.2Km/h).

Mooloolaba is really worth the trip, it's later in the season and has a fantastic atmosphere, prob one of the best tri's in the country

dont get bitter, get better

Oh good! I'd heard about the records and was worried that it was horrendous. I was starting to think I hadn't done enough hill workouts, but between now and then, except for this weekend because I have my first almost olympic, and on the 7th of Oct i have the Melbourne Marathon 10km.. other than that, I'll be on the hills every weekend!

I'm starting to get nervous & excited about Sunday too! It's really going to be a fair test of where i'm at.. And the fact i've only been running for real again since June as i had all of autumn off with a stress fracture..

Might even put down my Race Pediction/Hope here -

Swim 1500m - 27min
Bike 36km - 1h 10min
Run 10km - 50min

Total - 2h 27min

Ok, Official Times aren't up yet, however Times from my watch -

Swim 1500m - 23min
Bike 36km - 1h 18min
Run 10km - 49min

Total - 2h 30min 6secs

I've measured the run/ride myself and the ride was about 750m long, and the ride was just under 1k short, which is a little dissappointing, however the run had a kick a$$ hill in the middle of the loop (which we did 2 times).. The website had said it was a flat run! I just had nothing left, so at least now I know what I have to work on over the next 6 weeks..
