and any other "experts on injury" out there. I would like to pose the question, " Is there any relationship between Plantar Fascitis and IT Band Friction Syndrome? Not sure why I haven't put two and two together. Thinking back, I've had pain in my right heel for about the same time I started having IT band issues. I wake up in the A.M and have a lot of pain on the bottom of my foot which subsides after I get going, only to return later. As well, I've had ITBFS problems off and on the entire time. Dumb question, but could they be related?

Here is my two cents for what it's worth. Plantar Fascitis is most commonly an overuse injury or due to broken down shoes which actually is overworking the facia due to lack of proper support. The ITBS could be caused by the onset of the Plantar Fascitis and you changing your gate while running. ITBS is also commonly an overuse injury which will only be magnified if you are not exercising with the same gate and posture as normal. So I guess I'm saying one may cause the other because of the changes of alignment that occur with the injury. Either way, they need to heal. Those types of tissues don't heal very quickly. Heal, regain ROM, regain strength, go out and kick butt.
