Off Season Training Week 1
LOL, I think I can match you on the beer and pizza and throw in a chocolate milk shake or two!
For me, I didn't do anything last week after IMOO but catch up on my honey do list with the wife. I actually felt pretty good by Thursday, foot was still a little sore.
I did, however, have to race in a 5 mile run on Saturday as it was part of a year long swim, bike, run and x-country ski series I was doing. I told myself I'd only run if I felt ok, and would take it easy.
First two miles were cake, was at a 6:30/mile pace and was feeling pretty good. Then, there was a nice steady uphill in mile 3, I had NOTHING in the tank as a way of getting up that hill with any speed. Ended up a 7:40 or something rediculously slow for that mile. Ended up hanging on the rest of the run to finish in just over 35 minutes. Now I'm tired! I kept telling myself for miles 4 and 5 that this was IT for running for a few weeks and I needed to just be done!
Next few weeks will be fun workouts, swimming and biking with the kids, no HR monitor etc... little or no running for 2-3 weeks to let foot heal. Also thinking of an early spring marathon here too, after a lot of run focused workouts this winter!

Ironman still has your tank drained, eh? Still, 7:00mpm isn't too bad. Especially looking at the circumstances. Good job!
Normally Monday is a run day. I just dont feel like it. The weather is iffy looking, and I dont wanna be caught in the rain with my dog, she hates rain. I think I am going to swim and do a core routine instead.
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
Off season?...cranking up now for the winter ultras...running mostly.
pizza and beer always ( Is there an icon for a belch?)
