Nerves are weird

I think it is directly tied to your expectations for the race - whether it is an 'A' race or a catered training day 'C' race.
Then again I get nervous before every race whether sprint or IM.

I'd say it depends on how hard you plan to push your limits and what your goals for the race are. Some races I have very little nerves, others, like when I'm going for a PR and think I can make it and I want to make it, I'm more nervous at.

Anybody else think it's weird that I feel more nervous doing my first Olympic distance tri(this sunday) than when I did my first 1/2Iron Distance about a month ago?
Not really sure why...Maybe I'm expecting more of myself in this shorter race, but I don't really have any good base for my expectations. I've only done 2 Sprint Triathlons and 1 Half-Iron Tri before, not much...And to be perfectly honest, I've only done a handful of running races before...
Honestly though, the nerves are not that bad, I'm pretty confident in my training and am excited about this weekend.
