Anyone try this? No pools open early enough for me and a PM workout doesn't usually happen.
Improvisation...
A few meters of rope, a blown bicycle tube, paddles and a pull buoy... and your condo's pool. I basically strapped my feet to the wall and got a decent workout by paddling in place against the tension from the rope. I used the tube to get a better, more comfortable fit. Form was tough to work on, but force was easy.

Critique it please.

I wish I could have seen that. Im sure a few of you neighbors were a little curious about what you were doing.

That method has been used when Olympic swim teams travelled to the Olympics on Ocean Liners. From when the modern games started it was the same.

I was talking to George Larson last summer he represented Canada in the 1938 Games in Berlin just before the Great War. He told me he trained in the Ships pool with a rope tied around his waist.

It was also used in 1958 when Canadas swim team took an Ocean liner to Great britain for the 58 Commonwealth games. I was lucky I flew to those Games.

I would suggest you tie to your waist this way you can kick.

We did a similar thing when training in FLA last year. Tying it too your waist is the best set-up we found. We actually modified an old climbing harness and with a little adjustment it worked real well. (make sure to loosen the leg straps, and put the harness on backwards so the rope loop is easy to attache too)
