so as I was running last night I was thinking...boy, an asphalt sandwich sounds good about right now.
I am only posting this to make others feel better about their tripping and falling in front of others (biking and running)....this is my first fall running, and last the hope!

I was about 7 miles into a 12 mile tempo run feeling real strong and good. I was running through our College campus and just can't resist checking out the College girl hotties. Well, as I was looking to my right looking at some "hotties", I didn't see a curb and tripped and hit the pavement....yeah, all the girls around looked real impressed. Got up and brushed myself off, and took off running again embarrased to death:o , ...I can laugh now.

I didn't hurt myself other than some road rash and sore elbow....and my pride.

Damn women....would you please quit looking so good and causing accidents like this, :D just kidding!

Happy training and beeee careful out there.

Tim

I won't list all of the times I've fallen off my bike or while running. But more recently, I joined an ultra running group. I met a girl for the first time and we're chatting and running the trails, when all of the sudden, in slo-mo, I go down! "Might as well get that out of the way from the start!" I say to her and laugh it off. Of course, two weeks later I do the same thing with two people there. Niiice. I'm not the most graceful athlete out there, but the way I figure, you're supposed to get dirty in the trails, right? Keep laughing, my friend. We ALL fall down ;)

*giggle* I almost tripped on my own shoe walking in the gym locker room this morning.

Once when my running buddy and I were out for a jog in the morning we caused a wreck -- a guy was watching us from his truck and not paying attention to the road, and made a left turn to go into a parking lot (of a driveway we had just crossed) and directly into a car that was going the other way! Oops... those dang wide open straight aways can be a dangerous place to drive ;)

In 1994 at the Kelowna Apple OLy Tri I came out of the water, ran up the beach determined to make a fast transition. They had laid down a green outdoor carpet across the sand and up 3 small steps to the grass.

I couldn't discern the steps under the green carpet and went splat like a bug on a windscreen! Got a big mouthful of carpet.

Stubbed my toe but no other harm.

I've fallen while running a handful of times. All while trail running. I prolly could save myself, but I run with my dog and the little extra forward momentum just pulls me down. I've done a few runs where I was heading back to the parking lot with dirt all over me.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
