She did the run. She was awesome the first half. Running up some killer hills. I tried to get her to pace herself by running two minutes, walking three, but the excitement of passing people got her going. By the 1.5-mile marker however, the heat got to her and she was mostly walking.
Either way, she crossed the finish line and that's what that first race is all about.

I'm also doing Deer Creek september 23- my third race of the year, finishing up a great first year of triathlons ( I am very addicted now!)

Have fun at it. I broke my foot so I can't do it. I thought it looked like a fun one. And I'm with you, I'm very addicted also!
I just emailed HFP to see if I can get a refund, but we'll see. They are slow to respond sometimes.

I ended my season two weeks ago but I was strongly considering adding the Bath tri so that I would have 3 USAT races and a year end ranking. But I figured that wasn't a great reason to spend so much $$ on a race, especially because I was already past my peak.
Anyway, good luck and have fun! I'm thinking about driving up to watch the festivities, so thanks for reminding me :)

I got the $ put towards a race next year, not the end of the world.
I ended up going to the races to watch, so I'm curious, how was the water? Part of the bike course looked a bit hilly but mostly pretty flat. Is that right?

The water was freezing cold! The bike coures was very nice though. It was actually mostly downhill with maybe only two small hills. The run was also nice. You got to run on grass near a lake and over a bridge.
What race did you pick for next year?
