Anyone do this one? If so, tell me about it....:)

I haven't, but Mike has a number of times, and I've cheered a couple times. Oh, and I think we might both do it in 08 ;)

The swim can be a tough one temperature wise and sometimes with some decent choppy water.

The bike ride has sections I have done (others are close to the public) and are pretty nice. There are a couple major climbs in the closed part (see a profile here).

The run is mostly along the ocean, which is really pretty. It's fairly flat (see a profile here).

The weather varies -- one year I saw it was freezing and raining, the other a bit cold in the morning but then a nice day.

I had a feeling you would reply :) I'm thinking about this one, because the Vineman is so late...though March is a little early, so I could see that it would be cold. If you decide to do it, we could actually, finally meet up ;)

Chances are if you are racing it I could make it down even if not racing... its about 1.5 hour drive for me (without traffic). :)

I just read that Tikal might look at doing the Cancun 70.3... maybe we should all do that one instead!

Ok, that looks like a HUGE 5-mile climb at mile 30  But it is a one-loop course, right? I could deal with that. I bet its a really pretty course.

Now, Cancun...hmmm....:p Let me check into that one...

The CA 70.3 bike isn't too spectacular from what I know... you are inland a bit and on a military base for most of it. I think much of the scenery is just brush, but I could be wrong. Here is a race pic from the bike course.

Oh, and the other fun one Mike and I are looking at is St. Croix

Isn't St. Croix supposed to be one of the most difficult 70.3 races? It is actually on my list too :p

I'll have to check with the Boy of the house... plus the later in the year is a bit hard.

TD -- we should just get you convinced to do St. Croix!! :D
