Hello folks. I just started using the Polar 625. I have the running and biking speed sensor. The directions for using these sensors in a triathlon are as follows:

1. Swim with watch in "speed off"
2. Transition, stop the SW then change the speed to "Bike". Lower RH button. (fairly easy and quick to do but it does require you to lose a couple of seconds)
3. Start SW. Red button.
4. Bike
5. Transition, stop the SW then change the speed to "Run"
6. Start SW.
7. Run

Problem: When I do this, my Stop Watch resists to a new exercise and starts over at 00:00. I'm I missing something here? I would like to be able to track my total time, especially at the upcoming IM Cheese

Unfortunately you are correct. Theres no cumulative time - unless you leave it in HRM only.

Yes this is the case, but if you want to get the whole race in one file you can merge the files after the race is over. Not ideal, but hey you have a chip on your leg and the official time will be available either during the race or few days after that.

I did do my last race with two watches - one on the bike for power, cadence and speed and another one for splits. Not bad, but also not ideal. Well maybe Polar will come up with something better in few months or years. Until then I'll rely on S625X for tri races...

Yup. I can only confirm what the others wrote. I just did a mini-review of the S625X and it's a great...but perhaps too powerful...HR tool.

My last race I spent so much time fiddling with the watch after T2 that I just gave up and ran.

The manuals for these things suck. No two ways about it.

I have one. I just start the watch 10 sec before the start of the swim and just let it run until the finish. Once at home, I download all the data. I use the polar software, chip times, and heart rate patterns to mark transitons and segments of my race. This is much easier.
