I am new to the site and Tri's. I am a road racer that was got suckered into a sprint tri last weekend. I had a blast and now I'm hooked. It was an 800m 12mile 5k and I did it in 1:29. My run was terrible. I was not expecting my heavy feet. I will definitly be doing some bricks. With my road race background I was 3rd on the bike so that helped. My next one is next weekend and I have 2 more the 2 following weeks with the last being an Olympic.

My only regret is that I didnt start before I bought my Madone in July or I would have bought a TT bike instead of another road race bike.

I'm sure we'll be talking quite a bit.

The tri bug got you too. That's awesome. You'll be suprised when you start training with bricks in your program how much lighter you'll feel when running off the bike. Good luck

It's great to have more cyclists joining the Tri community. Brick workouts will help you adapt to the run off the bike. Are you nomally a good runner?

Do you live in Michigan? I live in Midland. I don't race Triathlons on my Madone (i have a cervelo P2), but a set of aerobars on your bike will help. I'm still considering doing Ironman Wisc. next weekend on my Madone.

Awsome, glad to ohave you aboard. The funny part is that I now feel stronger on the run immediatly following the bike than I do just running these days. Taller and stronger some how, Hmmmm. I have gotten to the point where I warm up on the bike trainer for about 20 minutes before I take off on my runs - is that weird???

Hey welcome to your new addiction. If you are in MI, was it the island lake sprint tri you just did? That was a fun race for me as well. Hope you enjoy your newest hobby.

I'm a decent runner, usually a 7:30 pace but at Island lake it was more like a 10:30 pace. I was actually getting over food poisoning from about 36 hours before. I lost about 6lbs of fluid so I was trying to rehydrate the night before and during. By the time the run came around I was hurting pretty bad. I sucked down too much water on the bike and had bad stomach cramps.

I bought some aero bars for my Madone but I havent gotten them setup right. I keep running out of air when I ride with them. I need to play with them a little. I did the best on the bike at 36 minutes for 12 miles.
