I am training for IMFL in Nov. and recently had to take almost a week off for surgery, finally got cleared to start training again and now have stitches in my forearm for another week. Is it safe to swim with these in there and if not, do any of you think two weeks of no swimming is going to doom me in Nov.? Swimming isn't my best leg and I am already ansy from my five days off from surgery. Any advice/reassurance would be great.
***Great job IMKY racers, Looked like a great day for all of you****

You might want to check with your doc on the stitches. I've heard it isn't recommended, and many public pools don't want people with wounds in them. I'd think you'd want it to be sealed/covered, too -- and chlorine does kill off new skin cells and can slow the healing of skin, so be careful of that, too. If it is only another week I'd say you are safe to just wait for a week. Just make the next week a bike or run focus and get in a few extra workouts there. You have time... no worries :)

Oh and thanks for the great job note :)
