Carbon Hydrotail (50 grams-$100), which Normann used to kill the bike in Kona last year, or XLab Carbon Wing (55 grams-$120). Does anyone know anything else about these two products. I am having a tough time choosing the one that would work best for me.

Ive read that the hydrotail is easier to grab due to a lower angle. Does anyone know if this is true? I am sure I am over-analyzing this, just wanted to know....

I've been using the regular XLab Flatwing (the non-carbon one), and I've gotten very accustomed to its bottle positions. I can get them and put them back, from aero, while still pedaling.

The new version with the storage compartment is tempting ... right now, I have a very similar DIY solution (I just jammed a microwedge pack into the tiny space between wings). My solution, however, is annoying to repack should I want to take anything other than my standard CO2/tube/levers.

If I were in your position, I'd get the XLab Carbon Wing.

thanks for your input i just ordered the xlab carbon because it looked like it could hold more gear especially with the custom fitted bags you can get with it.
