About a year ago when I really got into this crazy sport, I purchased my first and only road bike, Cannondale Synapse (aluminum) which I have used and been very happy with. I've changed to a double crank set and added clip on aero bars. I've completed several races of varying distances ending with IM UK last week. I did pretty well on the bike and really had no comfort isues remaining in the aero position for a good portion of the time. In my group rides I am now at the point where I usually ride with the advanced group in our tri club and hold my own.

I am considering upgrading and using my currrent bike as a trade in at the Local Cannondale store possibley to System 6, Six13, or CAAD. All of these bikes as I understand have a more aggressive geometry than the Synapse which is a little more relaxed. The bike shop is to get back to me on pricing but I'm faily confident System 6 will be way out of my budget. Would I benefit significantly by upgrading to the more aggressive frame (LBS - will give me about $1000 for my current bike) even if I can only afford the CAAD?

Sorry for the long post but any comments from the bike experts out there?

The CAAD is a pretty awesome road bike for road racing, but I think that you'd benefit more from getting a tri bike. While the CAAD is definitely more aggressive than the Synapse since the CAAD is designed more for crits and stuff while the Synapse is more for cruising, a tri bike will be even more aggressive, which is probably more what you're looking for.
