Last Minute Change
A time trial start ... that really affects the cut-off times on the other legs. Too bad that they had to use the alternate course, but obviously want safe conditions for everyone.

They better have a fairly organized self seeding process for the swim start. I envision mass chaos with 2,100 people try to seed themselves just before the race.
You going to miss out on a lot of kicks to the head ;)

They ended up making "self seeded" into "first come first swim" -- just a single file line after you walk up to the new start. It will be sad not to have the mass start, but it does mean that you can finish this race in over 17 hours and be an official finisher (since all cutoffs are being moved back however much needed based on when the last person hits the water.
After attempting to swim in the river against the current yesterday, I'm glad -- the current was strong enough that I don't know if I could have made it! Mike guessed that people swimming an hour, maybe an hour 10 in normal conditions would have been ok -- but doesn't know if others would have made it.

Looks like they have made some last minute changes to the IMKY swim b/c of upstream river currents. Should be faster, although I was kinda looking forward to the mass start.
