Hotter 'n Hell 100
for a century I always carry a granola bar, 2 gels, and a bag of clif bloks.
If it is going to be super hot (which I am assuming it is since it's texas) then be sure to bring plenty of water. I would say at least two 24 ounce bottles if not more. Depending on the ride the aid stations can get pretty spaced out and the last thing you want is to get dehydrated.

yea the hydration prolly wont be a problem since there are over 4000 volunteers and I think I read that there are 17 stations along the course
Heehee...are you sure its not in Florida? Its hotter than hell here right now :D BE SURE to use electrolyte replacements...Hammer Endurolytes are the best. Down here in the summer I take 3-4 per hour. Stay hydrated and use sunscreen! Good Luck out there!!

Be careful down there! Not only is it hot. It is dangerous.
I have never seen so much carnage on the road. Thousands of riders, most not conditioned to go the distance, together in a 100 mile ride in 100 degrees and you get fatigue and more wheel crossing accidents than you can imagine.
Be safe and don't get distracted.
Enduralytes!

Just wondering who all is headed to texas this weekend. Also had a question since this will be my first century. I know mostly all the food will be provided on the coarse but what does everyone stash in thier jerseys for the ride as far as extra food and what not
