bikes and washing machines
yikes - I would take all of the affected clothing and soak it for a couple of days in Oxyclean or Biz and see if that gets it out.

dont laugh. Try Dish soap. My dad taught me to use it on clothes that get oil stained. It is designed to cut grease. I would soak with some and then run a cycle.
I have good luck with simple green or vinegar on greese stains.

dawn is one of the best things to cut grease. However, start with a very small amount if you run it in the dishwasher or you could end up with a bubble party.
FYI - I recommend a laundrymat for my rags (from my bike or car care, etc). I have enough that I can usually make it just a once a year thing.

Based on previous posts, this forum seems to be all inclusive concerning the tri world. Maybe this one is a stretch but I recently have come across a dilemma that maybe some of you could help with.
Not long ago I bought some new chain lube called Rock-n-Roll lubrication (works on the bike really well by the way). I applied it to my chain with an old rag, threw the rag in the dirty clothes and it got unintentionally washed along with other clothes. The lube apparently works so well that it lubed all of the clothing in the initial washing and still lingers in remaining washes.
Normally, I could easily live with the static and wrinkle free fabric but the big oil spots just aren't terribly attractive.
Does anyone know how to get oil out of the washing machine? Your expertise would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.
