Swim ½ miles, Bike 17.5 miles, Run 3.1 miles

Water Temp: pretty much bath water after 14 straight days of 90+ temps

The swim: We started in two waves - first wave all the men, second all females and teams.

Once again I was nervous about the swim. It was going to be my longest swim that i have done so far in a race. I am still dealing with the nausea from the motion sickness but have tried taking ginger pills and that seems to help. Once i got it, i found myself in a nice rhythm. I am not fast by all means but i am getting more comfortable in the water. I just learned to swim at the beginning
of the Tri season so i think i have come a long way!!!

T1
So I was a little angry in T1. This race was setup where you can put your bike anywhere... which wasn't the problem. The problem was that when i got to my bike... they guys that were next to be had already been back and they had thrown their stuff all over mine. My helmet wasn't even near my bike anymore... (it started on my handlebars) I had goggles and swim caps over my shoes. I was pretty mad!!! but found my helmet grabbed my bike and moved on :-)

The Bike:]

So i wasn't thinking before the race and forgot that I was down in Columbus Indiana and that the bike would probably be rolling hills. I found out though quickly when we headed out on the road. I did pretty good and have been working on my speed up hills. I can climb anything... just not fast!

55:16 94/189 19.0 mph

T2
Pretty uneventful... threw the water bottles that were not laying in all my stuff off of my shoes and continued on my way.

The Run:

I cramped pretty bad in the first mile but tried to remeber what i read on here about the breathing and getting rid of the cramps. They finally went away so i could pick up the pace. The end of the run ended in a sprint between another guy and me. With the crowd cheering it was nose to nose... but i think i won b/c they put be before him in the overall standings.

Finished 99/189

3rd in my age group :-)
