Scored a Renn 5ive Se7en 5ive Disc recently and after bolting a new cassette onto it took it out for a spin on the windiest route I know. First of all, you can feel that it takes a bit longer to accelerate and climbing suffers a tad compared to my lightweight training wheels. However, tucked into headwinds I noticed an eerie quiet....no wind drag/noise off the rims (I was running a HED Front). The 'womp womp' Darth Vader sound of the rim was all I heard (and this is only slight when you're on the bike, but easy to hear from the side).

No surprises so far to anyone who's read a disc review....where I was surprised was in cross winds. I seriously have no idea what people are complaining about w/discs. I purposely went to the worst part of the SF bay, where winds were easily 20+ mph and varied in all degress (mostly 90). and I had no problems steering the bike or keeping it on a tight line. ???

The best part about the wheel--it's about the same cost new as a used HED Rear. $520 bucks! Zipps are for suckas!

And it's pretty damn stiff...though I didn't take it on any high speed downhill turns I didn't notice any wheel flex when cranking away.

Greatness is only achieved by those who perpetually raise the expectations of themselves to the point where it ruins their life.
