Asthma is the worst thing ever .... well there are worse things but its not fun. I just don't get it. Why can't the meds help ! I was finishing in the top 10 overall last year. Top 5 sometimes. This year. Crapola.

*hug* Sorry it's not being cooperative for you! No tips though... mine is actually pretty good most of the time.

Sorry, dude. I had quite a few friends that were/ are asthmatics, none of em have had it hang around this long, this bad. You sure you're not just using it as an excuse to cover up your sloppy training? ;)

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

Look into allergy shots. My asthma has improved dramatically since starting the shots.

asthma if a funny thing, I had to deal with it since I was born. It seems to come and go for no reason, and I had the hardest time pinpointing what my triggers were. For me, it used to be extreme changes in temperature, hot to cold, vice versa, or pet related(allergic).

In recent years I had pretty good control over it, I am now at the point where I don't even carry around a fast acting inhaler. I remember I couldn't go anywhere with out it, just for fear of having an attack.

One of the methods that has helped me deal with it has been my mental attitude. I think alot of the attacks I had were made worse by anticipating an attack(i.e. I know my asthma is going to act up if i start exercising real hard so I just better be ready when it happens). Anxiety and stress are the worst things for asthma. Now I try not to even think about it, especially when I am active.

Another thing to consider if you feel your asthma is getting worse, is whether or not something around you has changed recently,(your environment, diet, weather). A change like in lifestyle could be triggering it.

I don't know if you can apply any of this to your situation, everyone deals with it differently and some people have it a lot worse than me, so I hope you can get control of it.
