First tri is 10 days away!!
Welcome! I'm glad you are enjoying it. Does your fiance train/race them as well?
Yes. She just did an all female breast cancer fundraising triathlon in WI last month and ended it with a smile. Kind of threw down the gauntlet to me. haha. We are having fun training together.
I couldn't get my gf to go running even if there were bullets flying at her....

Welcome, I'm sort of a newbie too but have found this online community to be extrememly helpful. It's nice to be able to impart some wisdom, or some stupidity, to people and help them through their first triathlon experience and everyone thereafter. Good luck on the first tri, if you already enjoy the training, I think you'll be a victim of the greatest addiction.
Awesome! I sorta train with my boyfriend (sorta cause we start and end together sometimes but he is much faster), and it really adds to my enjoyment.
Bueller (i loved the Ferris Bueller joke that guy left on your intro post by the way. haha) - That's what my girlfriend said about me before I started.
Ozzie - Yeah, I am totally seeing why some people get such a rush out of this. I have the hope of an IronMan quest in the back of my head for 2009. Hope I can make it happen.
kyillee - Yeah, its a lot easier for me to have someone there to talk to when I start hurting. Even if its about a lousy sandwich i had the day before or what episodes of T.V. we still need to watch. Anything to occupy my mind while on the track sometimes.
(She's still faster than me right now, but I don't want to admit to that.)
Yeah, few people understand that it pertains to a certain motorcycle company lol.

I also train and race with my wife. We are very similar to Kyille and her boyfriend. Wen we train outdoors we only see each other every now and then but we enjoy it.
You'll see that when you cross that finish line you'll get so addicted to this sport..... there's nothing better.
Hyperactive Trifueler!!!! (I refuse to let the status go :p)
Hey Taylor G and welcome!
What tri is 10 days away? Enquiring minds want to know...
And I'm..."that guy" with the Bueller joke...
And Buellerandy...I knew it was either one of three things...your real name, an homage to "FB's Day Off." or something to do with Bueller cycles ( a division of Hardly Dangerous.) I went for FB.

Anton - the Tri is in O'Fallon, MO. I hear its a pretty small one, so hope its light enough for a beginner to have some fun. :-) Just 300yd/18mi/3.1mi I would be proud of myself if I hit that at about 2hrs, but will be happy if I finish. haha.
And anyone that can crack a good "Ferris Bueller" joke is allright by me!

Hey everyone.
Just introducing myself here. I signed up to do a triathlon on a dare from my fiance and I fell in love with the sport just from the training. I hope I cross the finish line with the passion to keep going. Hope to talk to a lot of people on the site here for some tips and stories!!
