Yeah, I definitely don't bounce back as easy as I did before that part of my life lol.

Welcome to trifuel and welcome to the addiction. Keep up the good work on training, you'll be surprised at how quickly it becomes a part of your every day life.

Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.
Glad to hear you're healthy and have joined this addiction. I'm a newbie too. I found it easier on my training to pick a race to train towards - just helped with my discipline. You may not need the discipline since you were in the Marines. Enjoy this lifestyle, it is fun!
Hi! Welcome to this awsome site!! I'm also totally new to the sport (love it when it's refered to as an addiction, though!)
I've trained 13 weeks for my 1st sprint , which in 11 days. Good luck, and enjoy!
I started my training in Jan and I picked my first race end of June. I picked at 22 wk+ program. In hind site, it was way too long before a race (and I picked a race with a 'difficult' swim for me). Wrong choices. Should have gone out with an easier first race. C'est la vie! I did bounce back in Aug and completed my first tri.

Hey everyone,
I have never done a marathon, let alone a milti sport competition. The most physical training I've had was the Marines which had its own hardships, however after going through testicular cancer and such, I'm finally getting back into my regular running and swimming habits that I took part in while I was still in the service. I've been at a solid 218 lbs for the past 3 months which is still obviously way too high for a 5'9 heighth. But my goal is definitely set on training.
My current routine is 3 miles running, .5 - 1 mile swimming. So any advice is always appreciated and am looking forward to gaining more knowledge and experience.
