Petition for government fitness support
It's ok. Just spend a $100 of our tax money and build a pull up bar in non-kid section. We don't want the kids to be hurt. We just want a small piece of the taxes. If they drop thousands of bombs and each costs millions. Is it too bad to ask for a few dollars to be spent on fitness?
We have pull-up bars at several places around campus. In the past four years I think I've seen one guy on them. He was probably drunk.

NICE!!!! I am sure that he was. Pull ups are way too hard to attempt sober.
So let me see if I have this straight. Local cops told someone that he could not use his local playground's monkey bars after 9:00 a.m. and this is something that merits a petition to the U.S. Congress to urgently address. Is that right?

Yeah, dont know what law here states that you cannot be at the parks here after 9:00am. Not sure where that is coming from. We have a public trail with a workout bars etc along it open to everyone all the time. If I really wanted to do a pull up and did not have access to a gym or park , I would probably buy a bar and put it up in my doorway.

Or use a tree limb. They're Nature's Monkey Bars!TM

Haha very good ...
For a hundred bucks you could put in the bars yourself. Work with the park district to coordinate it. Didn't someone once say 'Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country'
Paying taxes doesn't entitle you to chin up bars.

did you just trademark tree limbs AND their motto?!?
It wasn't me, man. Mother Nature trademarked that phrase years ago. ;)
If you want to workout on the tax payers dollar. Commit a crime and go to prison, you will have all the time in the world to workout and the bars make a natural chin up and dip bar.

...or join the military (especially the Marines, but avoid the Air Force) and they'll pay you to exercise.
;)
Serioulsy, I know lots of parks that have "Perrier" courses where you run the course and and hit all sorts of exercise equipment. Sadly, they are rarely used.
I'll bet being sued is a big concern for whether or not to put them in public places.:(
but avoid the Air Force
unless you want to get really good at golf and drinking martinis

It never fails to amaze me the length people will go to to deceive themselves as to why they don't work out/aren't in shape. The only thing that differentiates humans from animals is the overwhelmingly large portion of our brain devoted to excuse generation and blame shifting.
Greatness is only achieved by those who perpetually raise the expectations of themselves to the point where it ruins their life.

Hi guys,
I am one of the bodyweightculture members. There is a petition going around asking for a legislation to help people workout outside.
As you know most city parks have pull up bars etc, but those are only for the kids.
We feel that a very small portion of the tax money can go into building some basic tools such outside pull up and dip bars for adults to be fit.
