2nd Tri Attempt - Redemption?
Good job! A little stubbornness goes a long way in this sport.
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
Overcoming obstacles makes it even sweeter - Great job - Way to keep going!

Wow great job! I think it's awesome that you know the swim is hard for you and you are still willing to tackle it in a relay :) Best of luck!

You never forget your first. Congratulations!
Hey, good for you! My first is in 19 days, and I am very excited.....
Great job, good luck in your upcoming event.
Good job and congrats for finishing
If at first you don't succeed, tri, tri again. Congrats on the finish and continued good luck on Sunday!

Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.
Congrats!!!!! You'll never forget your first tri. Good for you for looking adversity in the face and tri-ing it again. Best of luck in your upcoming race, too.

Congrats! And good luck with the next race.
congrats! It's awesome that you are doing the swim in a relay even though it is the event you struggle with. When dealing with that open water it is just practice practice practice.
You'll never forget your first time!

I think I may have recruited some new converts. I finished my relay sprint yesterday with my aunt & uncle. We had a blast. We barely finished the race and they were not only already scheming how to "do better at the next event" , but also scheming how to get their kids involved in the next race!
We are thinking of forming some "friendly family competitions". hehehehe. I've said it before - this is not only addicting but it's contagious! :p
That is great!

My first attempt was the PhillyTri - DNF, but lessons learned! I finished my 2nd attempt at the SheRox event (almost exact same course as the PhillyTri, except the swim was point to point downstream). Then my relay was the Steelman at Lake Nockamixon.
I am trying to find something in September.
there will be another tri at lake nockamixon steelman mini and half genesisadventures.com and a couple in NJ and del. trifind.com could be helpful.

The last time I posted, it was because I wasn't able to finish my first sprint tri in June. I am happy to report, I successfully finished a tri (yesterday)!!! Woo Hoo! Based on everyone's advice, I made it to the end. Special thanx to MOZE (steve) for hooking me up with Joanna, my swim coach. Her lessons definitely helped my form and give me confidence. Also thanx to JRH - I did sneak in a OWS at Lake Wenonah with the CGIRacing folks.
My swim still wasn't pretty (800m downstream river) -- a reststop with the kayak, and several turns onto my back to look at the sky & catch my breath, my bike leg -- had trouble with front derailer when I tried to shift to the big ring; Both my legs cramped up after mile 2 on the run. But dag nab it, I made it to the finish line! 800m swim, 25K bike, 5K run = 2:16:31.
Lessons learned: nutrition, electrolytes, train, PRACTICE OWS and just do it!
Now I understand why everyone here says they get hooked on triathlon!
My next one is this Sunday. I'm only doing the swim leg as part of a relay. I'll be looking to get one last hurrah in before the season ends if I can.
Woo Hoo!:D
