USAT Rankings are up..
Somewhat... I cant find me through the search, I have to dig through the individual races, and then, I only have two races showing up- which prolly explains why I am not in the search...
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
I wasn't in the search either, but when I looked at my whole age group, I was in there.
BTW....Baller job, Bryan! You rock!
I'm at 86.1 right now, but I found out that they don't count the results from the elite wave unless the race director petitions to have it in there (which I'm guess is usually not:D). The only races I haven't done elite in this year have been College Nats, AG Nats, and St. Anthony's, but hopefully I can ask the RDs at the rest of my races to petition the results to be included. Making All-American would be pretty cool!

i am having the same problem, I can't search for myself and I also can't find any race where I started as an elite. hmmm

Hey guys....how does this points system work. Are there triathlons that are worth more points than others? Are there some triathlons that don't even count for points?
Just trying to figure this out.
Thanks

I think its good to bump this thread now that people have more races under their belt for the season. What is everyone's score?
My average for 2 USAT races brought me to just below 78: 77.99903
Good enough for 425/1687 nationally for males in my AG. Lower than I'd like but it gives me a good target to outperform next year.
The nice part about these rankings is that in theory it lets you compare anyone in the country with a fair amount of accuracy. Course difficulty, time, and length don't play a factor (though you can just compare between similar lengths). The biggest problem is that the system appears to be only 2 years old, and it gets more accurate over time. More people ranked previously means that people in the future will be ranked more accurately. In the end your score doesn't determine everything, but its a nice way to compare! :)
87.1 for 95/1687. Still need half a point to make All-American. I have three races left, so hopefully I'll earn my a$$-patch in the next few weeks.

Hey, Florida is pretty rough! There's a race on Dec. 8th out here, and if I go, I might have to wear a wetsuit!

78, but I'm only finding myself under Intermediate distance, which means my sprint and half-Iron races haven't made it to the rankings. Strange - they were all USAT races this year.
Also, I read up on how they do the rankings via the par method. The Oly race I did this year had a very long swim compared to the year before, so everyone's rankings would be low for that one. One of the sprints I did had a ridiculously short swim compared to the year before, so everyone's rankings should be through the roof on that one (a six minute swim for a half a mile!) since you're ranked compared to the fastest people of the year before.
I'll be interested to see where I things end up once the rest of my races are in there (esp. that lovely ultra-short sprint ;) )

Mine is screwed up.
It has me doing a race that I didn't do...
And worse is that it was a bad time! ARG!
Have to see what I can do to have it corrected.

You've got it a little mixed up. The par times are based on people's rankings from last year, not their times. So it doesn't matter if the course distance changes, or if the weather is worse or anything like that.
If you're confused read through the rankings criteria. http://www.usatriathlon.org/Membership/Rankings/Rankings%20Criteria.aspx
Basically they convert all times on a course to a ranked score (generally between 1-100 though it can in rare cases be above 100). Then they use the average scores that all athletes received from the previous year to determine the new scores for the current year. The times for the current year only factor into the scores for the current year so once again the scale is graded to be 1-100 (the times from last year don't matter at all).
That was probably a poor explanation :(
Way to go Bryan :)
