I read that thread too and I had a similar breakthrough in the run recently. (50-52min to 44min).

Grats! whats the qualification for age group nationals?
Top 5 in age group in a USAT regional championship. First in age group in any USAT sanctioned race.

Cool, that's awesome, huge breakthrough! That's my next big dream: 45 min or under... who knows, anything is possible...

In this thread back in January: , I asked for advice on becoming a faster runner. Just wanted to take a minute and say thanks to people who responded with great advice. I really have been working on it since then and am happy to say that I hit my goal of running a :50 10k in an Olympic triathlon (I used to do :55) in the Federal Escape Triathlon this weekend (and also qualified for next year's Age Group Nationals!!). This was a PKPR (post-kids PR) for me in both bike and run, and probably would've been overall but I'm pretty convinced the swim course was long - it took me 5 minutes more than usual and I don't think anyone went under 23 minutes for the mile - so I can't really say on the swim or overall.
In any case, I've dropped almost a minute a mile from my run time and I'm really happy about that. Since this was a regional championship, the competition was pretty fierce and I know if I had run any slower, I would've missed qualifying for Nationals. Thanks again, Trifuelers!!
