Hi everyone,
I am looking into buying an HRM and was wondering if most of you own a cycling computer and an HRM, or just an HRM with cycling functionality (like the Polar 625x).
Thanks for your help.

I have a Cateye double wireless bike computer (with cadence) and the Garmin 301 GPS and HRM.
I had just a Polar s720i for a long time.
But since december I got a Polar cycling computer also.... just because I wanted to check my speed and HR easier during races.
And also because when I zone trained the Polar didn't beep if the bike options where on.
I have the polad S525 with speed and cadence sensors on my bikes. Just wear the watch for everything since its waterproof it can go from water to bike to run with no worries. Works well for me. Really like it, but dont have anything to compare it to :)
I've got a Garmin Edge 305. Great all around computer.

i have a nike triax hrm and a polar CS100cad bike computer. I let the watch deal with my HR and overall splits and just get speed/cadence/distance out of the computer.
those garmins sound nice, but i'm always leery of the clear sky view issue and reliability of the gps...maybe someone who actually owns one can comment on that?

I have the 301 - it will sometimes have problems in a heavily wooded area - trail run. Otherwise no real issue. The 305's have an even better antenna than the 301. Quite reliable. Great tool.

You cannot swim with the Garmin though can you? Yes, I do occasionally look to see where I am at when I am swimming. I have a VERY hard time getting my HR up past 65% swimming

No swimming with the 301 - well I know people would put it under the swim cap - tho that obviously would not allow you to reference it during the swim - but only to gather the data afterwards.
Not sure if the 305 is used for swimming - it is a much sleeker unit that the 301 - the 301 would be awkward to swim with on the wrist.
All the Garmin are only water resistant, and not enough to be safe for swimming. I have also heard the under the cap thing, but like RV said it's hard to look at then. Although you could perhaps have a HR alarm set (it has those) and then hear it... dunno.
I was primarily looking for the ability to swim with my HRM so I got a basic polar monitor. I will look into getting a compatible bike attachment when I go to look for one.
I also found an unexpected feature with the polar was most of the equipment at my gym was compatible with it. It automatically picks up the HR from my chest strap. Much better than HR estimates and putting your hands on sweaty sensors.

my nike is picked up at the gym too (i suspect it has polar guts)

or even just trying to hold your hands still long enough while bouncing up and down...
