Hey Yall,

Hit a milestone last evening, the Guru turned over 5,000 miles last night! Not bad for 22 months of riding.

So, this means I can get a new bike, right honey???

Hopefully, my wife will see this thread and say Yes!

a new bike at 5k miles?! You must have money to burn. Replace the components(if necessary) and ride on.

What size bike do your ide? If you ride a 56 and I say it's an awesome idea to get a new bike every 5k mile, can I get a smoking deal on your current ride?!

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

I say go for it Great Greyhound!
Enjoy life and if you can afford it you are worth it.
A new set of wheels can be very motivating.

Who needs a man when you have a Kuota Kalibur to wrap your legs around.

Blitz, I bought a set of Hed-3C's in 2006, as a reward for winning my age group in the local Duathlon racing series.... My wife bought me a Renn 575 as a birthday gift. I did upgrade my gear from DA9 to DA10 before the start of the racing season.

So, I still haven't convinced my lovely wife into purchasing a new bike. If/when I can, I'd just buy a new frame, and have my LBS move my Dura Ace 10 gear onto the new frame.

I ride a 58cm cannondale ironman before now. Cannondale's are a little small.

5000 miles - what is that - not even 2 seasons. Nice if you can pull it off!
I will be going probably 2-3x that before being able to swing getting a new bike :(

Well, kinda.

I got a new "ride" too this weekend... too good a deal to pass up, plus this takes care of the "big present" from now until March ( law school graduation/ anniversary/Christmas/ Valentine's Day/ Bar Exam survival, and 30th Birthday)

Little does he know that I will need new shoes soon, and more riding gear, and winter riding gear, and, and, and.....

I got a 2007 Specialized Transition Pro... it flies! I just hang on!
