Eurosport just broadcasted a news from L'Equipe: Rasmussen is out of the Tour.
Not because of a positive test, but his team told him to leave.

What??!?!?! It's cause of the "not giving the regulators his schedule" right? Aah, gotta love this. Such a frikin' Soap Opera.

Again, as I watched it this morning and saw him ride away from Contador like he was nothing - despite the previous day's whipping, I just thought, "Nobody can recover like that, naturally."

All the other GC contenders were struggling except Rasmussen.

Ha! Get ready for a Disco rider to test positive LOL! No doubt the Puerto will put Contador under suspicion now. First Vino, then Cofidis team and now this! LOL! This should be on "The Days of Our Lives" I bet Contador is gonna turn out to be a woman  :D

From another room: The Yellow should really go to doping control. They appear to be winning this Tour! LOL!

What a laugh - We all know it's (doping) happening and they (the elite athletes) aren't going to stop it when there's so much riding on winning. Doping's here to stay, in some form or other - feeding the ego/greed in the human. I don't agree with it (Hey, was that a caffeine-fix I had before my last race?? And what about the ibuprofen for the Achilles? Am I two-faced?)

Sorry - didn't mean to label just elite athletes - there are probably plenty of other non-elites trying stuff out. And what about going to altitude to train - that's self-doping!

In the end I just think its for the mighty buck. If they were racing like most of us just to see how we can improve and push ourselves to the limit there wouldn't be a need to cheat. We'd only be cheating ourselves and that wouldn't be very fun. But show these guys the money and this is what happens... :)

My two cents anyways... lol

I love the coverage though... great shots of France. Would love to try those mountains one day. Vive le tour!

So my son has the answer - we need to develop a substance that all competitors have to take on the starting line that temporarily paralyses them if they have been taking illegal substances! Then watch what happens when the starting gun goes off!!!

This honestly makes me sick and I pray that triathlon never grows into a huge cash sport like competitive cycling, soccer, football, baseball any of those. The number of doping, cheating, whatever cases grows proportinally to the amount of cash at stake for the sake of the sport I hope tri never gets huge cash purses.

Damn....I miss the days when drugs were just for recreation...

And sorry Az...performance enhancing drugs are through age group triathlon already as is the climate to think it's ok....open any tri mag and see ads for substances that are supposed to help you improve/ get to Kona/ be the best.

This year's race has been exciting at least. And I haven't even been able to watch much of the racing.

- TOO LATE. Prizes aren't the real prize. Endorsements are where the real money is.. and there is lots in our sport! We already have our own cheats in the sport.

Many of us are looking for advantages. Better bikes, aerowheels, sleeping in altitude tents, computrainers, gels etc... it's endless. At the end of the day you only have to compete against yourself. Get pleasure from doing a PB or finishing a race despite suffering with GI issues. Winning is about finishing first, it's about going hard and enjoying the ride! In my humble opinion anyways... :)
