Numb Toes During Bike Rides
Lossen up your straps. Mine still go a little dumb, but I just curl them up a little to get the blood flowing again, but usually it's shoes are too tight.

Of course it's 'effing hard, it's IRONMAN!
Are you riding in normal running shoes? Does it happen every ride? How long have you been riding?
This can also result from where you place the ball of your foot in relation to the pedal axle. Your ball of your foot should be close to right above the pedal axle.
My toes get a little tingley from time to time. Its usually that my straps are too tight, but that is on a cycling shoe. I really like the shoes from Specialized and Nike. They fit my feet the best. A good fitting shoe is key also.
Either your shoes are too tight or you need shoes with a stiffer sole. I would say that if you are riding with running shoes, you should look into getting a pair of cycling shoes. If you already have cycling shoes and you are having this problem, you need to loosen the straps of the shoes.
Ok, thanks for the tips guys!
My toes were going numb for the longest time and I couldn't figure out why. A cyclist with a lot of experience told me to get larger cycle shoes and wider pedals. I went from a standard SPD pedal/cleat system, to Look pedal/cleat. I also ordered Triathlon shoes by Lake. They have one big velcro strap that I can easily adjust while on the bike if I have numbness. The wider pedal helped alieviate pressure on the ball of my foot, resulting in numb-free rides. Also, having shoes that are larger gives me wiggle room for my toes.
How long have you been riding with those shoes?

Well, here's my problem... the thumb on my left foot goes numb after about 45 minutes of riding. I do not have special bike shoes (ugh, tho I want some) and I am riding a road bike. To solve the problem i've fund that I have to shift around a lot and get off the seat, and very often, which I think is annoying. Any recomendations?
Thanks in Advance
