Oh god. When I read that, the first thing that I did was look at trifind to figure out which races are there. Then I looked at googlemaps to see how far a drive it is (4 hours, so I'd have to leave a 2am again). I am so tempted. Please tell me not to pay the money and pre-reg for iron abe by tomorrow. I race too much and I have my A race in 2.5 weeks. Don't do it, Carolyn! Don't do it!

I'm actually going to be in Missouri for my grandparents' 50th anniversary, but there aren't any good races there this weekend, so I'm renting a car and driving to Illinois. I'll be up early, too. Anyway, if you race this weekend, it'll be a perfect last blowout on your legs before your taper. Besides, I'm really cute. Just ask TriGuy....apparently he stares at my butt in spandex. Iron Abe's calling your name. Do it, Carolyn! Do it!

Hmmm... Its a small race and they give money to the top three overall. Looking at last years results, I have a shot depending on who shows up...
Will you be wearing a red thong?
Is it really a good idea to completely blow my legs after the final hard week 2 weeks before my A race a week after another oly? Possibly...
I do have my sumer research paper due on Monday, though...
I'm thinking.
I have until tomorrow evening to pre-reg.
You guys have until then to persuade me or dissuade me.

I may come to watch but my A race is next week....I 'blew out my legs' last weekend for my race and am tapering down now. Felt good....so go for it! Have fun.
Water temps around here have been upper 70s to low 80s. no wetsuits for a while. Found this site which seems to confirm my guess that water will be about 80. lake springfield water temp:)

I'm in.... a whole hour before online registration closed. I shall see you there! There are 3 pics of me racing Evergreen Lake last week up on Endurable if you want to see what I look like if you want to say hi. I'll look the same on Sunday... except I'll be more tired...
I'm certainly not expecting another PR this week, but I will try to race you in transitions, Mr. T2 National Champ...

It was fun! I'm glad I went!
Matt got 6th overall 2:10:14 with the fastest t1 in the race (:26). Combined transition time = :26 + :34 = 1:00. He got the 1st place in M20-24 age group award. Congrats again!
I was 2nd female overall (18th total) 2:24:32 with the 2nd fastest t1 (:27) and the fastest t2 (:30) of the race. Ha I win for combined transition time! :57
We really rocked those transitions... we had the two fastest t1+t2 times of the race by a good 5 seconds to third and another 5 to 4th. Its a good thing too because both the 3rd and 4th women had faster swim+bike+run times than me... if it weren't for transitions, I would be $300 poorer.

i was there too, finished 15th, i havent been to this site a lot but recalled someone calling themself ufctrigator, then i saw this guy in the middle of small town illinois with ufc stuff on and i thought it could be you

There are a couple races in Springfield, IL on Sunday. Anybody going to be there? I know a few trifuelers in FL, but none out thereabouts. I never have trouble meeting people when I go to races alone, but it's fun meeting other trifuelers. And does anybody know what kind of water temperatures to expect?
