wesuit: sleeveless v. full
Could you rent it early enough to get in a practice swim or two with it? If you can then you will probably be fine using the full suit especially if you are a good swimmer already. Otherwise you could play it safe and go with the sleeveless. I guess it also depends on how you are built. Some people with rather board inflexible shoulders have more trouble with a full suit and can struggle a bit getting adjusted. Bottom line is get a suit if the water will be that cold! :)

I have tried both and I didn't feel much of a difference between full and not. It's kinda your own choice so I stay with sleevless but thats just me.
If you can rent and try the suit, that will solve the dilemma. The pros use full suits, but I've had friends that dished out a lot of money for fulls and felt constricted in their shoulder movement. If at all possible try the suit on and swim in it once before purchasing.
thanks for the ideas....I'm going to go with the sleeveless. Sounds like the cold issue won't be much of an issue based upon comments. I'll try a full suit some other time when the risk of it not working well is a little less of an issue and I have time to try it out in advance. Thanks for your help.

Looking for advice. Here's the situation. I will be in the Steelhead 1/2 ironman on 8/4. I am not a fast swimmer and the goal is to finish. The current Lake Michigan water temp is 64-66 degrees. I will rent a wetsuit. I have raced one race in a sleeveless wetsuit but I have never used a full wetsuit. Would I be better off in a sleeveless because I know it and just suffer the cold a bit or would I be better off in a fullsuit to be warmer/more buoyant but perhaps less mobile?
