Too many races?
Dude that isn't too many races that is what my schedule typically looks like man.
That look awesome! I'm jealous that you have such a long racing season... I've raced 5 of the past 6 weeks and feel great. Just make sure that you take some time to drop back to low intensity and recover mentally after your A race...
Why not blow off the Lost Dutchman Half and no the RnR full Marathon?

Of course it's 'effing hard, it's IRONMAN!
That looks like you have them spaced out ok.
Just treat the other races other than A race as training events and back off when you need to.
I am really backing off this year and limiting my races.
I have had years with 40 or more events.
3 marathons, 3 1/2 marathons, 6-7 sprint tris, 3 olys, and an IM and plenty of shorter running events in one year.
It was my bank account that was suffering the most with all the race fees

well for the Lost Dutchman was a free entry if you raced their half last year since they goofed it up a bit, and I'm not quite sure I can run a full marathon. I've been considering it though.
Thanks for all the great responses guys!

I agree - looks like you laid it out pretty well - and I am also jealous with racing through the winter months. :p

How cold was the water? and were there actual polar bears in the vicinity?
Well the water was might close to freezing think they said like 35 degrees or something. No polar bears the only living things were the 4 other tourists who I gladilyl relieved of $50 a peice on the bet that I couldn't swim through said lake, only after of course I regained the ability to feel... well anything lol

Well that makes 4 hours on the trainer sound like a lot more fun!
I'll run in the winter, but those polar bear swims are too much for me!

Well, If you made money on the deal it is better than shelling out $$ for a race fee.

I did a 5 miler and then went for a quick dip in the Atlantic on New Years Eve.
I had to make sure I had done something pretty stupid for the year

Well by that mentality I should be good to go for doing stupid things until the year 2519 :)

I didn't think it was just me :D

Hey so planning out my race calander for next year and this is what I came up with:
July 22: Mountain Man Triathlong, Sprint, Flagstaff
Sept 23: Timex Triathlon, Olympic, Phoenix
Oct 7: Rocky Point Tri, Sprint, Mexico
Oct 28: SOMA Quarterman, Olympicish, Phoenix
Nov 11: Blue Water Tri, Olympic, Parker
Dec 8: Anthem Holiday Classic, Sprint, Anthem
Jan 13: PF Cheng's Rock 'n' Roll Marathon, Half Marathon, Phoenix
Feb 17: Lost Dutchman's Marathon, Half Marathon, Apache Junction
Mar 22: Havasu Tri, Olympic, Lake Havasu City
Apr 13: Playtri Festival, Olympic (maybe sprint too =p), Irving TX
May 3: Las Palamos Tri, Sprint, Mexico
May 31: Ford Half Ironman Hawaii, Half Ironman, Honu!!!
The only A race on there is Honu, the rest are just C level races. I more want to just practice racing then to really race. I tried to schedule them atleast 3-4 weeks apart. I threw in two half marathons due to the running aspect of the HIM plus the dutchman's was a blast last year. I plan on just using the other races as a way to measure my progress. There will be no tapers except for the big one at the end. Thoughs, comments, concerns?
