Ok this isn't my first real tri bike I know. But to me this feels like the first time I am getting into a full bred tri machine. This is what I picked up:

Damn I am excited about this thing. I bought it off of eBay cuz the guy lives right down the street from me. The wheels gotta go but thats about it. The grips are ESI grips and I have never seen these before but damn are they comfy...

I do have a question though:
Has anyone ever seen a shimano m5 light action bar end shifter before? Cuz that is what came with it, I have seen plenty of Dura Ace but never this one before.

Nice bike! I think the m5 is the Dura Ace shifter.

Sweet frame. That p3 alu is a great bike--it's a shame Cervelo doesn't make them anymore.

Your seatpost head is set to ride slack. Can you turn it around?

Edit: I'm assuming it's reversible b/c the ones on the P2SL and Dual are but I don't really know for sure.

I didn't notice that before hmm.... That is interesting I wonder why it was done that way.

Yeah I love the alu bikes because I can race and train on the same machine with out worring about it braking.

As I look at the pic, there appears to be the hex bolt at the very top rear of the seat post, which means the seatpost head should be flippable. On the Dual and P2SL, this is the difference between riding at 75 degrees, which is still steeper than a road bike, and 78 degrees. If you flip, you may want to work with a fitter to make sure your weight distribution is still good in the steep position.

P.S. I think many bike shops set up those bikes in the 75 degree position (and if you look at Cervelo's website, most of their pictures have the bikes set that way too.) So it's not a huge surprise if the previous owner never turned it.

Nice ride!

I have the P2 SL and the seatpost looks exactly the same.
You should be able to flip it around to get a steeper angle.:D

I flipped the seat post around and messed with all of the adjustments. I may have gotten a bike too small but I am gonna go for a 40K TT (racing against me and no one else) this afternoon. I am gonna be a very sad josh if the bike is too small.

Come on 4000 dollar bike gimme a new PR!!!

My money says that any "small bike" problems would be alleviated by dropping that tower that you call an aerobar down. Get the kit that mounts the armrests right on the bar.

That's a great bike, a lot of people wish cervelo still made em, and I dont see why they dont. With the company eliminating the Dual and dropping the P2-SL down to that price point, I would think the P3-SL would make a good fit at the $2k price point.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

I didn't drop the aero bar I slid the arm rest and the bars forward so I would be better stretched out.

The lower the bar, the longer the cockpit, too. Just in case you're still not getting enough reach. You could use some more drop anyway ;)
