Hey there. I need some help. I just got a pretty brand new set of profile design alumin x aerobars. They look really nice on my bike, but I cant seem to figure out how to take the brake lever/shifters off my old handle bars. I've pulled the hoods back, but there doesn't seem to be a place to loosen up the clamp.

Any suggestions from you out there who are more mechanically inclined than I am? I would really appreciate the help.

Well, it depends. If you have brifters there should be a bolt inside the hood that is accessed under the front of the hood.

Aero shifters (at least Shimano) mayjust unscrew from the bars.

Check out parktool.com/repair or the manufacturers website for a better explanation.

Thanks so much. That was embarrasingly simple to do. I was trying to access the bolt from the back of the hood.

Anyway. Thanks so much again.:D
