Great to hear there was no need to call a medic. :D
Fantastic race, great time and of course a PR. When's your next race?

Way to go!
Great job - great finish!!! I did my first Oly in April and thought it would kill me, but it went much better than I expected. I thought I'd finish in around 3:30, but came in at 3:14. I have my 2nd Oly on Sunday - Can't wait.
Again, congrats on a great race - when's your next?

Great Job! Congratulations!

I am hoping to complete my second Oly the first weekend in September. That's if the Montana wild fires settle down so I can get out and train like I want too. The smoke is so bad right now it's not healthy to run or bike outside. ugh!
Good on you!

Great job trimedic! Sounds like your first race went really well for you. It's always a learning experience, especially when it comes to transitions. Congrats!

Ok, I posted last week all worried about my first olympic triathlon so now I want to post and let you know that it went great. :D
The swim was a challenge, not for the distance but for the mass start and the fact that there is no wall to push off of every 25 yards. I lost my breath right off and it took the first half of the course to get comfortable but I found a spot with two others between the two masses of swimmers and just stayed there. My bike felt awesome, I felt like I really knew the course well enough to get out there and work when I knew I could and just get up some of the hill climbs. The run took me half the first lap to get my running legs but I felt strong.
I was thinking it would take me over 3 hours (I'm not speedy) and that had me stressed but I finished in 2:53 by my watch and that does include the transitions. I struggled with my wet suit so I think T1 took me far longer than I had hoped. But over all I was soooo pleased with my first Olympic. I ended up being the first local femail finisher, 15th over all. Yeah!
thanks for all your support.
