I've pretty much been using a t-shirt to workout in.
When I do my Swim-Bike brick workouts I dry off quickly and throw a t-shirt on. But I really want to use something this week during my light swims, I have no access to a truly TRI-Shirt.
What does anyone suggest?

I have been using Pearl Izumi tri-shorts and they are great.

Thanks.

If you are male and the race allows it, consider going topless. If you are female, consider just wearing a sports bra as your top. If you won't have a tri top, you could use a rash guard (tight fitting shirt used for surfing, etc). Although I'm not sure if that would chaff on the run -- it depends how it fits you. I don't know of any tops other than tri tops that fit really tight (to minimize drag in the swim) and are fast drying/wicking for the bike and run.

Forgo the shirt, its just a sprint. Hardly anyone else will be wearing tops. When you start talking long course racing, then coverage is nice (and often times required.)
I tried pulling a running top on during my first two races, lost a bit of time doing that.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

I think that depends on where you are... even in sprints around here I'd say most people have tops on.

kyillee, thanks. That's pretty much what I just did. I'm going to try some swimming/biking with it and see how it does.

Being a man, I'm still not sure about going topless.

Thanks.

Definitely try a run as well -- I find I chaff the most during that one

My first tri is this weekend as well and i'm planning on going shirtless. The only reason I won't is if it's not allowed.

I bought a rash guart t shirt.
It's long enough to tuck into my tri shorts.

I used it last night in a swim/bike/run trial and it worked very well.
It didn't create any odd drag on the swim and dried about as well as the tri shorts in the bike/run. Although calling it dry is not really accurate as I sweat enough to keep it soaked.

No chaffing. We'll see. If I can go shirtless I will, but if not then I'll wear this thing.

Thanks.
