Taper not going well..
Tapering highlights all the little bumps and kinks you've accumulated. Also makes you more cranky and likely to whine on TF ;)
I bet you'll be more than fine by the end of the week. Maybe go get a massage?
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
How your race day will go on Saturday...will depend on how much you can sit on the couch and watch movies between now and then...Of course i have no idea what your training schedule is for this week...but there is nothing that you can do to improve fitness now, and tons you can do to screw it up...
Skip the workouts,except for a few,VERY SHORT, sessions in each discipline...one a day...an example:
off today
swim :30 tomorrow,easy
bike wednesday on the trainer an hour or less (Small ring only)
off thursday
Friday a short ride,say :30 minutes with a 10 minute T-run...with a few pick ups...
Race on Saturday...
Go shorter on the workouts if you want!
I'm suffering through a bad taper for an IM in two weeks...my legs feel like warm snot and and I'm Grumpy!...But I KNOW on race day it will be alright.
Relax..breathe deep ...it will be ok.
Best of luck and let us know how it goes...

Taper's are meant to suck! Everything always feels wrong. You feel, weak, tired, sore, all of the symptoms you described. You think you will never finish the race, you will suck, unmotivated. All's well, don't fret!

Of course it's 'effing hard, it's IRONMAN!
Perhaps my strongest triathlon was an Oly (I've also done two HIMs) when I did no training from Tue-Fri. Four days off. Felt great in all three phases Saturday morning. The only reason I was able to take four days off was due to camping. From a scientific standpoint, you don't lose fitness until 7-10 days of no training. Remember the old rule of thumb: "There's no training that will help you within 7-10 days of a race, but there's plenty you can do in that time to hurt your race." Rest up and you'll be fine. Looking forward to your race report.
One additional thing is to watch the eating. Don't fret about putting on 2-3 pounds before the race, due to added carbs and hydration, but you don't want to stuff yourself and add 5-plus pounds, either. Just eat sensibly and healthy but maybe pass on the bag of Doritos with a big tub of French onion dip, lol. I quit weighing myself within a few days of a race and just eat until I'm satisfied.

I have a 1/2 IM this coming Saturday and I am not feeling recovered like I should. I started cutting back my workouts 2 weeks ago, but my legs are still sore and tired....I will admit I overtrained, but thought 3 weeks would get me feeling good again. Sat I did a 2600 yard open water swim which I felt super good, but when I rode my bike home after the swim, my legs felt very heavy and sore. And Sunday's short 5 mile run wasn't very comfortable, which seemd odd because I had built up to 16 miles on my long run day on Sunday's???
Plus, I have really struggled with bad allergies for quite some time now that seems to zap the energy from me. I am being treated by my doctor, without much success.
I think I will not do anything much this week at all except rest and eat well....it seems like the only way that I can have a decent race day next Sat. Anyone else ever take 5 days off before a race and do good, or atleast ok???
Thanks in advance for your thoughts and opinions. It really sucks to put allll this time into training, to only feel like I do one week out from my "A" race.
