Not in terms of your performance--but in terms of overall enjoyment/unforgettable-ness of the event and location: what was your best race ever?

I've only been doing Tri's for a few months, but....XTerra Real stands out for me as the best Triathlon I've done: The course was spectacular and difficult and a blast. But I'll never forget the Death Valley marathon. If you think Marathons are hell--try doing one there ;).

I'm looking forward to getting a full length IM out of my way so I can get out and do more fun events next year--Singapore 70.3? Australia? Adventure racing????

Greatness is only achieved by those who perpetually raise the expectations of themselves to the point where it ruins their life.

Can't pick only one:
1. My first race because it got me hooked for life!
2. IMWI 2006 - Well it is the Ironman and I worked so long and hard to get there and crossing the finish line is something that will always be with me
3. Have a relay sprint triathlon with my daughters next weekend looking so forward to that one - it'll be one of the most memorable and fun!

Yeah I don't think I could choose just one ever... I think every one has reasons I'll remember it.

But...
(1) PossAbilities sprint 2006 -- met Mike (or remet, but it took a while to figure out we'd met before)
(2) IM AZ -- first IM, first time I had family see me race, and seeing more familiar faces in my cheering squad each lap
(3) Explore the West Southern NV 24hr adventure race -- did things I never thought I could

Gosh that is a really hard question. I guess I'll follow the lead of RV and Kyillee and put a couple of answers.

1. My first of three annual Pikes Peak Ascent races (2000). This was the first endurance type event I ever did. I carried my finisher medal in my pocket for a week afterwards. Never thought I'd do something like that. It was the event that started all this craziness.

2. Then Boulder Peak 2004. That was my first Olympic distance race and the one that made me feel that I was legit as a triathlete.

3. And of course, my first IM in Florida (2006). The course is nothing special, but it was the atmosphere and the Ironman experience that made it completely unforgettable.
