After an intervals workout late last week my shin splints started killing, so of course I iced and pulled back the volume for a few days. I am having the hardest time falling back into my training routine. I KNOW I need to since my next race is 3 weeks out but I'm just struggling.
It may have something to do with it being 95 degrees with 90% humidity here, but thats just an excuse.

I need some motivation trifuelers!

Don't think... just do (thanks BBB).

Put your shoes on, tell yourself it's an easy day and you just have to make it 10 min and you can stop. Chances are you'll feel good and just keep going. If not, you might need more rest anyways.

Or pick a swim focus for the week... in that weather the pool might feel really good.

Or picture where you started, and where you are today. And decide if you are ok with going back to the start, or if you'd rather just keep your training moving forward :)

That earns the title of most insightful thing I have seen today...

thanks J :) It helps me when I'm feeling a stagnant point to remember that there has been progress, and that more will come.

It is okay to ease up once in awhile.
Stop and smell the roses, or have a beer :D

But get back out there.
One you get going you will remeber how good it feels.

Go out with out your watch, or HR monitor and run, bike or swim for fun.
