Man was this a hectic weekend my schedule was slammed full. Detailed the car inside and out picked up my packet then grabbed dinner with friends on Friday night. Immediately after went to the club partied a little too hard (day is over at 0400hours.)

Woke up early on saturday had to clean up the house. Got a short ride in just to loosen up the legs. Drove the bike and run course and got lost 4 different times cuz instructions were rather lacking. Got back ate then dinner went to sleep (10pm day is over).

Woke up at 445 drove down and did the Montclair Olympic distance tri. I did pretty well I think, I didn't make the podium that I wanted but I still did alright. Had to hang at the tri for a little bit (long story for the race report) finally got to leave and drove home. Had all of 15 minutes to shower and change before going to another party. Hung out at the other party 60 miles each way before finally getting home at 830 and that was my weekend.

The race went good 8th in my AG out of 30 and 74th out of 393 total. I made some choices that I am not proud of and that I wish I had not made so I am compling a list of what not to do for any one that wants to know :)
1. It is not a good idea to go clubbing with friends the 2 nights before and stay out till 4am.
2. It is really not a good idea to get into Long Islands and Jager at the club on such said night.
3. When your remind everyone of your friends 10 times to make sure they put their bikes in a climbing gear because T1 is a the bottom of a really long hill, make sure you follow your own advice.
4. After finishing a Tri that you had your HR above 180 for 2 and 32 min your body can't handle drinking and partying as well as a normal day.

And that was my day the Race Report is coming...

you learned the one lesson I have tried to learn over and over.... Alcohol before races never works well, but like a moth to a flame...

I drank 4 beers this Saturday at the beach, then had wine with dinner, then did a sprint Sunday. UGH! I hear ya bro, why do we do this? Why does Sam Adams have to taste so good!?

Dude, wish we'd known you were there! My husband and I were both at Lake Montclair yesterday. Those hills were brutal, but sounds like you had a good day. He was 7th in his AG, and I was 11th. Only my 2nd Oly but I PR'd by almost 21minutes! It's amazing what a good coach and a year of training will do!

The most important sleep is 2 nights before a race, so not sleeping during that time didn't help. A lot of people don't sleep well the night before, but it really doesn't matter if you've had quality sleep the 2-3 nights beforehand.

I've had a couple of beers the night before a race with no problems, but that's my normal alcohol intake.

Crazy people... I turn 21 5 days before my A race this summer. The celebration will wait until afterwards...

35-39, even though I'm only 34 in non-tri years.

btw, good race report. bummer for your brother. Are you really sure about that swim distance? It was really that long? It would explain why it was 6minutes slower than my last Oly swim time which was a 1500m.

Yeah we mapped it... I am 100% certain on this one. Oh well life goes on I guess. Congrats on your time though thats pretty decent and you are the the toughest AG.
