so i did the motor city triathlon today. it was a perfect day for a race, sunny and warm. water was a perfectly comfortable 70 degrees. the thing that makes this race interesting is that on my way out of the water i stepped on something. when i got to T1 i noticed a bit of blood on my toe. obviously i was thinking of getting out on the bike so i just ignored it and kept going. get through the race without much of a problem and take my shoe off. it turns out that i had a pretty good sized laceration on my toe that required three stitches to patch up. when i looked back at my shoes there was blood soaked through in the area of the cut. for sure not washing that off, i am keeping that as my badge of honor.

wear it proudly.
I had a mate who still had wet feet from the grass in T1 and when he put his feet on top of his shoes to pedal away from T1 his bike was in a big gear and his right foot slipped of the shoe and he sliced from his big toe halfway down his foot. He thought it was just a scratch, so he did the bike. Whats superhuman about this bloke is he bridged the gap and lead into T2, unfortunately when he pulled his foot out of his shoe he opened the wound some more, he got off the bike saw the blood and promptly passed out......good times

dont get bitter, get better
