(1) When you get on the bike do you already have your shoes in the pedals before hand or do you put the shoes on then clip in?

(2) When you go into transition off the bike do you clipout with your shoes and run in transition with your clipless or do you go bare foot?
-Thanks
Mat

Personally I have my shoes on when I mount and feet out of shoes when dismount.

Don't try something new for the race - unless been practicing it.

M shoes stay on the bike all the time. But as RV said, dont try anything new for race day. I would wait for your next race before giving it a shot. Youve gotta practice it a bunch before youre even close to ready to try on race day.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

I don't use clipless shoes at all but I am sure that, for Iron Man Triathlons, only the pros can have their shoes clipped on their bikes. I am almost sure this applies also for Half IMs. For Sprints and Olys, you can have your shoes clipped on the bike.

It is pretty easy to take your shoes off on the bike as you are approaching t2 if you are going to do something. Even so, practice...

Putting your shoes on after t1 while riding takes a bit more practice. The important thing is to be able to jump on your bike and then get those shoes on quickly without swerving. I've definitely been nearly taken out by people who haven't thought about that.

Last year, I generally put my shoes on in t1 and then left them on the bike. This year, I've started leaving the shoes on the bike all the time after plenty of practice.

I still put my shoes on in T1 but I took the shoes off before T2 for the first time at the Oly this past weekend. Worked out ok...
