Question about Polar Foot Pod
1. Specific - its based on your stride so the other persons will be different unless he/she is a perfect clone.
2. haven't tried it - would need to take a look when i'm back at home.
concerning 1.
I never had to calibrate mine, it was perfectly accurate out of the box. So there is a good chance that it'll work for two runners. Just try it out on a course that you know the distance of.
concerning 2.
Haven't tried it. There is an issue with the personal data (weight, height, age, ...) stored in the watch to calculate e.g. calories. If you wanted those calculations you'd have to update those values each time you swap users.
The software can handle more than one person. Since only basic data (HR, pace) are transferred from the watch, the SW should be able to do calculations like calories accurately using each persons settings.
That's good to know about the software being able to handle 2 people. Makes it a much more affordable purchase if you can have 2 people using it. Ha!
If the foot pod is really inaccurate for the 2nd person, I'll guess I'll deal with that when we find out.
Thx!
try it out of the box like suggested, if you can go for a run together on an out and back. - hit the lap button and switch the watch and pod halfway. See if it the distance is the same coming back.

Actually I guess I have a couple of questions.
1) If you calibrate the foot pod. Could a 2nd person use the watch and foot pod and have accurate readings? Or is it very specific to the person who calibrated it?
2) The watch is a single user watch. I see that you can upload settings from the software. Does that mean you could have 2 different users. Each saving their "profile" in the computer. You would just have to upload "your" settings to the watch from the computer? (seems to me this would be faster than manually making the changes on the watch)
thanks in advance for your feedback
