Post Race Hammy Soreness...should I ride or rest??

Unless you are an elite level athlete you should probably just take the day off. Pros and elites actually benefit more from active recovery than pure rest but for regular age groupers you should rest at least for a day especially if you have any thoughts that injury could result from training. A strained or torn hammy is NOT an injury you want anything to do with!

Do you know what DOMS is?
Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness
The worst of it usually comes several days after an event..
Take a day off, relax maybe go for an easy walk...you just spanked yourself at a race...you're going to be sore!

I had a pretty grueling OLY tri this past Sunday and my hamstrings are still really sore. The course was all hills, you were either up or down, no flats so my hamstrings took a beating on the bike and the run. I took it light on Monday and got in the pool for a bit to loosen up. I am still sore and wondering if it is more beneficial to just use today as my day off or try to get on the bike trainer and spin easy for an hour or so. Any opinions?
